1994
A courier service
Matthew's Foods began as a courier, delivering catering products to restaurants and takeaways across Scotland.
1997
First store — Glasgow
Our first supermarket opened in Glasgow, doubling as head office. It remains our largest branch today.
2001
Dundee
Our second store, a retail-focused shop built for a smaller city.
2005
Aberdeen
A third branch, serving the North East.
2009
Edinburgh
Our fourth branch, on Inglis Green Road — later joined by a second Edinburgh shop on Earl Grey Street.
2025
Glasgow — Sauchiehall Street
A ninth branch, right in Glasgow city centre.
Thirty years on, we're still family-run — nine branches from Glasgow to Inverness, serving home cooks, restaurants and takeaways the way we always have.
